Have you ever been marked?

when i first met my wife, she was not a jw.

i was baptized at the age of 12. to make a long story short, some of the other youths in the congregation followed my lead and took non jw boyfriends and girlfriends.

well the brothers decided to point me out specifically as i was the only one who cared.

Boy do I know this feeling.

Have you seen invasion of the body snatchers when they point at the one who is not like them open their mouth and make this shrill shreeking sound.

This is how I felt after I started questioning in my study.

My husband went back to the Kingdumb hall for a short while after we got married and I being the good and dutiful wife said yes I would study for the unity of our family.

I was given a copy of Crisis of Conscience by someone and I started asking all kinds of questions in my study.

I was labeled apostate faster than you could snap your fingers.

They even talked about our family from the platform about the trouble with marrying outside of the "truth"

I know one day her mask will slip although it won't be soon enough for me.

THE WORST THING ABOUT THE BORG ??????????

what was the worse thing while you where in the "truth".

for me, it felt that everynight was a meeting night, the relentlous pressure getting to the meetings.. for my husband, apart from the meetings, it was the never ending assiments.

for my teenage son, it must have been field service.

Why Georgia

For me it was being sexually harrassed in the Kingdumb Hall.

I was breastfeeding my child in the mothers room and this same brother would always come in to do the count and he would just stare at me.

I told the elders but they didn't care they said he was just enjoying the beauty of mother and child.

Yeah right.

I hate those people still today and wish they would have prostate exams done by NBA basketball players with super big giant hands!

My husband is a slowly and quietly fading away Jehovahs Witness. I am not nor will I ever be a JW.

His mother is an absolute witch and I want to out her to her congregation. Everyone thinks she's so wonderful and kind.

She has treated me like whatever is under the dog doodie on the bottom of her shoes for too many years and I have had it.

I have been kind, helpful, and have asked my husband to be the same in regard to her even though she does not deserve it.

A few people from her old congregation that know my husband and I and how his mother treats us are shocked by her behavior.

I know she likes being one of the "good sisters" at her hall.

I just want them to know who she really is and what she has done to me, my children and husband.

Believe me, I don't want to give any power to the Watchtower.

But I would like to make one of her favorite places in the world a bit less hospitable.

Am I horrible for feeling this way?

I need help...really really bad...

i'm almost to the point of an emotional breakdown.

i go out with this guy he's 20, a jw and i'm a 16yr.

he basically breaks all the rules in the book; adultry, sex;oral, drugs, drinking, partying, he's even growing a little chin,bottom and top lip hair.

Why Georgia

As one who is married to someone who is a Jehovahs Witness although he is fading away....I don't know that I would want to go through all that I have at your age.

Run run run run away from him.

Despite the fact that he's a Jehovahs Witness....do you really want to be with someone who is drinking, using drugs, and having sex indiscriminately?

If you do then pursue him...

But as far as lifemates go...he sounds like no prince charming. Find someone who has common interests and is going to uplift and encourage you to be the best you.

how long to baptism?

i have recently started a bible study, and think that i may like to be baptised.. i was wondering how long does someone have to study before they are baptised?.

also, i was wondering how many hours do people spend on their mission (door to door).

i would be thankful for any help, as i am just like many, searching for awnsers.

I think it depends on when the next assembly is.....ha ha ha!

I remember when I started studying the sisters said if you study really hard and because you are so smart you can get baptized at the next assembly which was 2-3 months away.

They wanted bigger numbers for that particular KH.

So glad I picked up Crisis of Conscience and went on the internet.

I'm not baptised but my husband is and he is fading away slowly - thankfully.

Don't do it. Run far far away.

Can anyone help me? Loved one being torn away

i am not going to divulge any names or contact details as i do not what this being taken much further.. i will cut to the chase, i have fallen in love with a jehova's witness.

i am not a jehova's witness... can you see where this is going?

i have been told that her being in love with me is strictly against jw "policy"... now, i have been scowering the net for days now, becomming increasingly insomniate and i have to admit, i have found nothing to support this warning.

I am married to a Jehovahs Witness who is fading away.

We have 2 children and this has come up at almost every turn.

My in-laws hate me and go against me trying to bring their son back in and teach my kids about their "truth"

When I have had operations suddenly the inlaws call saying...don't forget she can't have blood.

When we were first married the elders even sent my husband out in service with single ladies in the Congregation telling him they were good sisters and would make great wives.

It has been a lot of heartache over and over.

My husband is a good and kind man and a great father to our kids.....

But having the Jw's in my life at all times has been extremely stressful to me and I think I would definately think two, three, four, times harder before signing up for this life adventure again.

Best Bible Translation?

my wife has been a jw for about 10 years (we have been married 15 years).

over the years i have tried various strategies to deal with this, which i won't go into here...except that i have agreed to "read the bible" with my wife...and i get to pick the translation.. what translation would be best recommended to help highlight the errors of the nwt and jw thinking in general?

i have seen here that today's english version has been recommended...anything else?

The thing that has most made my husband open his eyes is Bill Bowen & Silentlambs.

He made fun of the Catholic Church for years and now he sees this is an epidemic in his own backyard.

i'm in a pretty tough pickle at the moment.

i was on this site before under another username but i haven't been here for a long time.

i am fully convinced that this religion isn't what it's cracked up to be.

Why Georgia

Whatever you do you should thoroughly think it through. Make a list of pro's and con's. Maybe talk to people who have actually left and see if you are willing to deal with that isolation.

If you start fading away while you are still at home are you willing to have everyone at the KH talk about you? You know how everyone loves to gossip about the "bad ones."

Also you realize that if you do this while still at home there may be consequences for your parents. The elders always seem to hold the parents responsible for their children's actions.

If you plan on leaving home start saving now so you can be fully self sufficient. If you receive medical coverage from your parents you may have to find a job that provides this for you too.

You have some very hard choices to make.

My husband is treated almost like a stranger by people in his old KH because he is fading away. His own mother only calls when she needs something fixed and he is the only one who can and will do it for free. My husband is a good son, he's decent, moral and kind....but she cannot get past what the ones at the hall will think if she comes around us and our children.

Best Bible Translation?

My husband is a fading away JW.

So many years so many fights - oh thats my sad reality.

I feel that the Complete Jewish Bible translated by David H. Stern has helped alot because it uses lots of hebrew and has a glossary to tell you the many meanings and uses of each Hebrew word.

I think the NIV is the simpleton's bible and is not thought of well by the JW's so why even go there and I'm sure you already know what they say about the KJV...ugggh!

Good luck to you and don't fall under their voodoo spell.

Sometimes they say things to you so many times it actually starts to make sense in some odd way if you haven't taken your reality pill or had a good dose of caffeine to keep your mind sharp.
